About our Staff

Our Commitment to Campers & Parents

At Big Cove YMCA Camp we have always been proud of the quality of our staff. The Big Cove staff members are a dedicated group of responsible young adults carefully selected for their character, maturity, skills, and sincere interest in the growth and development of youth.

Our staff team of approximately 50 people is made up of a combination of recent  graduates, university, college and high school students. Many of our staff have years of camping experience and many are graduates of our Leadership Development Program. Our staff are not only leaders, but friends, teachers and role models to all of our campers.

All of our staff participate an intensive week-long training program prior to the summer. They are required to have First Aid and CPR, as well as Life-Saving certificates and many have their Wilderness First Aid.
